  40 = 4 = humanity's movement through time to completion, closure.

  I am very interested in numerology, especially as it relates to the numbers used in the Bible and really appreciate all your effort in putting this info together!

  Contrary to what the WT expounds in its reworked 'research', a lot of the meanings of the numbers used in the 'Scriptures' have been 'borrowed' from pagan mythology...for example, the 'third heaven' that Paul talks about regarding his mystical experience. Can't put my finger on it now, but the WT said something about 3 being a number used for 'repetition' or some such nonsense when in fact, there were some seven 'levels of heaven' in the thought of Jews or Greeks around the first century. Leolaia could probably fill in the details here - I love reading about this stuff but am not very good at being able to set it all out without my books at hand...many of the numbers set out in the Bible cannot be taken literally, they have a 'symbolic' as well as an allegorical meaning.

  Congrats to you for shining a spotlight on something I'm sure countless Witnesses 'in good standing' secretly wonder about.

  The Watchtower thinks that by their dismissal or avoidance of any comments regarding this issue, the all-too-apparent contradiction between their 'supposed tenets' and their 'wealthier adherents' actual lifestyles will just be a non-issue. How wrong they are! I am sure this is leading more and more r&f to awaken to the glaring hypocrisy that is the WTBTS. By their failure to weigh in on the issue at all, they are just digging their own grave, slowly but surely.

  I love the fact that you aren't afraid to use your own name, but they continue to hide behind the Tower...

  Well, I remember seeing this and I printed it and was reading it in detail - about half way through (just haven't gotten to the end yet - no time!). From what I read, I thought quite a bit of effort had gone into it and it had a lot of interesting points...couldn't understand why the poster got a thorough thrashing just for posting it (if I remember correctly).

  just a thought(s) about how/why the society wants to cut off members from a normal societal relationship.

  outside information: people need information outside their own bubble so to speak, so that they can know what really is going on around them.

  members need information from the outside to know the truth.

  Well, we could have a quasi Woodstock - those that want to sit in the stands at the Yankee Stadium could do so, others could enjoy the grass....er....turf area, make it all kind of informal - no dress code etc...

  Anyhow, I will muse on this for a little while and see if something like this couldn't be drummed up - maybe a few ex-Witness bands in between 'sessions' just to keep the gathering exciting .... I think it would be unbelievable seeing something like this come to fruition....talk about a revolution!

  Can you imagine filling Yankee Stadium with 250,000 ex-Witnesses for a 2-day fest? Complete with experiences and personal awakening stories? This is my dream! Kind of a 'reverse international brotherhood assembly' - that should make the news...only this time, all the refreshment stands will be open!

  Any rain in the forecast? Does it even help much with the fires? I don't know how y'all cope with that kind of ongoing drama ... must take its toll emotionally as well...so sorry you are going through this on an almost annual basis, it seems.
